I found out today that I need gum grafts done to replace gum tissue that has degraded while I've been incarcerated due to the poor quality of care. We do not even get normal toothbrushes at many facilities and are forced to use finger brushes and such to clean our teeth. There is no normal dental floss either. I have never had a cavity nor have I ever had any issues with my teeth or gums, and now I must undergo painful and lengthy surgery to fill gum tissue that should have never have gotten to this point. My teeth have never seen anything like this mess I am in now.
I will also need surgery on my left hand for the dislocated thumb, my shoulder for the dislocation there, my nose for the break that occurred during the assaults, and of course the port to my heart needs repair and replacement. I feel like I will look like Frankenstein for a while when I get home. Not to mention all the health issues to fix and getting back into the immunoglobulin every 4 weeks for four days of infusions routine.
I know I will bounce back and be in full gear to be a Mommy again as I should be for my three babies. I miss them so much. It is what drives me to survive and try to stay in one piece. Just seeing them finally will be unbelievably healing!!!
